EMDR & Talk Therapy for Women in Idaho and Washington
Serving the Treasure Valley and beyond through online therapy.
Emma Asmus, MA, LCPC, LMHC
Finding a therapist can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re carrying anxiety, trauma, or the impact of life experiences that feel hard to put into words. I offer virtual mental health therapy for adults in Boise, Idaho and Washington, providing a calm, supportive space to heal, process, and reconnect with yourself.
I am trained in EMDR through an EMDR International Association (EMDRIA)-approved training program. I specialize in EMDR therapy and trauma-informed talk therapy, helping clients work through anxiety, trauma, postpartum depression, traumatic birth experiences, and the emotional impact of PCOS. My approach honors the mind-body connection, recognizing that emotional distress often lives not just in our thoughts, but in the body as well.
My Approach to Therapy
My work is client-centered, relational, and holistic. I believe therapy works best when you feel safe, connected, and understood. Sessions are collaborative and paced to your needs. We will take our time to build safety and trust in the therapeutic relationship and there is no pressure to “hurry up” and heal.
As an EMDR therapist in Boise, Idaho, I integrate EMDR with talk therapy to help clients process distressing experiences, reduce anxiety, and build lasting emotional resilience. EMDR can be especially helpful for trauma, postpartum mental health concerns, chronic stress related to health conditions like PCOS, and unresolved experiences that continue to show up in daily life.
Who I Work With
I provide virtual therapy for adults (18+) across Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell, Kuna, Emmett, and the Treasure Valley in Idaho, as well as clients throughout Idaho and Washington.
Many of my clients come to therapy experiencing:
Anxiety or chronic stress
Trauma or complex trauma
Postpartum depression or birth-related trauma
Emotional challenges related to PCOS
Feeling disconnected from their body or sense of self
Life transitions and personal growth goals
What You Can Expect
Clients often describe me as grounding, warm, and attuned. I listen deeply, help you make sense of patterns and experiences, and offer compassionate feedback while honoring your strengths. Therapy with me is not about “fixing” you, it’s about supporting healing, insight, and meaningful change at a pace that feels right.
Whether you are seeking EMDR therapy in Boise, virtual trauma therapy, or support during a more difficult season of life, my goal is to help you feel more present, empowered, and connected and as your therapist, I am here to support, guide, and empower your healing journey.
In my free time, you can usually find me buried in a good book, hiking with my puppy, or hunting for the world’s best almond croissant.
